Welcome to the home of LYSA (Longwood Youth Sports Association), where you will be able to obtain more information about the entire organization, as well as the individual sports. LYSA was originally formed back in 1962, as the Middle Island Sports Association and then later evolved into the current LYSA organization it is known as today. The organization was formed to ensure the youth of Longwood would have organized sports available to them throughout the area. Today's leagues have grown to over 3,000 families across 8 sports under the LYSA umbrella and is recognized as the largest youth sport organization in Suffolk county and one of the largest on all of Long Island.

We would like to inform the community about current and ongoing efforts to acquire fields for all of our outdoor LYSA sports. As many of you may have seen or heard, we have had solid discussions with the owners of the old Kmart property in Middle Island to acquire a big portion of this property to have several fields established. This is being done with the help of Suffolk County Legislature Sarah Anker and MICA President Gail Lynch-Bailey, who have been very instrumental in assisting our efforts. In addition to this property, we have also been promised fields from "The Meadows at Yaphank" as well, once the first phase is completed. Hopefully we will have some great news to share soon. Stay tuned...The LYSA Executive Board
